Will the owners of Melbourne Amusement Hire be on location during the event?
Yes, owners and a professional team attend every event to handle setup, operation, and pack-down.
Are the amusement rides and attractions insured for Public Liability?
Yes, we are fully insured and can provide a certificate of currency upon booking confirmation.
Are the rides registered with Workplace Health and Safety?
Yes, all mechanical rides are annually registered and inspected by qualified Structural Engineers. Certificates are available upon request.
Are your employees covered by Worker’s Compensation Insurance?
Yes, all our staff are fully covered by Worker’s Compensation Insurance.
Can we view Log Books for each ride?
Yes, each ride has its own Log Book available for inspection upon arrival. Some pages are downloadable from our website.
What safety procedures are in place?
All devices are regularly maintained and inspected. On-site safety checks are done at each event. Staff are fully trained in ride safety.
Do you supply power and lighting?
Yes. Medium/large rides come with three-phase generators. Smaller generators are available for jumping castles and kids’ rides.
Will staff supervise the rides?
Yes, trained attendants supervise all rides at all times during operation for maximum safety.
Can volunteers supervise the rides?
No. Only our trained staff may supervise amusement devices as per insurance requirements. Volunteers void coverage.
When will the rides arrive to be set up?
Setup timing varies. For Friday events, we typically arrive Friday morning. For weekend events, we try to set up the day before.
Who provides security if rides arrive early?
We provide overnight ride security if no other arrangements are made. However, we are not responsible for securing the entire site.
Can rides operate in wet weather?
No. Operations are paused for safety in persistent or heavy rain. Light showers may allow for safe resumption after drying.
Can riders wear plaster casts?
Yes, if the rider can sit comfortably and use the restraints. Some rides may restrict cast wearers for safety reasons.
Can riders carry loose articles?
No. Loose articles are not allowed on rides due to safety risks.
How much space do you need for the rides?
Typical setups require 30m depth; width depends on the rides. A custom layout plan using Google Earth is available.
Can you inspect the event site?
Yes, we regularly conduct site inspections to assess suitability and create a layout plan.
What are the booking options for school fetes?
We offer Flat-Rate Hire or Share of Sales (80/20 split). Choose based on your fundraising strategy.
How do we book Melbourne Amusement Hire?
Request a quote. Once accepted, return the Booking Form (Flat-Rate or Profit Share) with deposit and Conditions of Hire.
